Viggle

Viggle is a great way to earn free gift cards. It's a free downloadable App for iPhone and Android. All you have to do is check-in to some of your favorite shows and earn points. Those points will turn into gift cards to places like Groupon, Sephora, Foot Locker, Best Buy, CVS, Lowe's, JC Penny, Buffalo Wild Wings, Old Navy, Gap, and points to some sites such as; Fandango, Redbox, 1-800-flowers, or Amazon and more. It's easy!

Here are some other ways to earn more points:

When you flip through the "What's On" button, located on the bottom left, you might find some hidden ads. Those are normally worth between 5 to 150 points. You can watch as many as it allows you to.

Also under the "What's On" feature, you can flip through any of the participating shows due to air that day. Remember it's one point for every minute you are checked in. Some will have bonus point opportunities, and/or some will have the LIVE feature.

The bonus points will be the amount of minutes you watch that show and multiply the minutes by the amount of bonus points the featured show is showing. In this case the XXII Winter Olympics is showing a 3X bonus. (See the image on the left.) If you were to watch 3 hours of the XXII Winter Olympics, multiply your answer by 3.

60 min x 3 hrs = 180 min
180 min x 3 bonus = 540 pts

I have seen bonus point opportunities anywhere between 2x and 8x and I have seen some where you would have to have DirectTV CINEMA or HBO to rent. There are more bonus opportunities when checking into those movies.

Then you can earn more points by playing LIVE. LIVE is trivia questions where you can play along while watching that show by answering A, B, C choice questions, True or False, or make a prediction answer. In this case the questions were worth 25 points. If you answered the question correctly my points would double. If you answered it incorrectly then you get 5 points, but the 5 points would still double. Anything you do not answer, you would not get credit for.

Helpful hint: You can check into shows when you are not near your TV. When you check in you will get the "Check-In Alert" window. Click on "Try Again." Do this 3 times and you will get the "Check In" window. This allows you to type in a show that is airing at that time. For example the XXII Winter Olympics does air during the day, during certain times. Once you check in, you will ONLY get credit for the amount of minutes you are checked in.

60 min x 2 hrs = 180 pts
;o)

I normally check into something that is lengthy like a sports game.

The bonus points will not apply this time, but you can play LIVE during the day, while checked in to that show. The points earned when playing LIVE will be 10 points (doubled) if correct, and 1 point (doubled) if not correct. No points for questions not answered.

Here is another way to earn more points. When you check into your selected show you might find more hidden ads (see the Mr. Clean ad in the image to the left). Most of those are between 5 - 150 points. There are also ads (example, the Lexus ads) that you can check into when the commercial appears while watching the show. Most of those are around 500 points. Keep in mind, you can earn up to 6000 points, per day, with checking in to shows, watching ads, and playing LIVE.

If you look further down, on the same image to the left, you will see "Earn Viggle Points." Some are games you can play right on the app on your phone. They are 100 points each. Some other options are online purchases through something like Groupon, Target, Old Navy, Personal Creations, Red Envelope, Resturant.com, Vista Print and much much more. Those are normally 1000+ points. And you will see some other opportunities to earn points by subscriptions to something like GameFly, Hulu Plus, Maxim, Cosmopolitan, Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine...etc. Those are also worth a ton more points.

Another way to earn more points is to invite friends to join in and use Viggle. Click on your Profile icon, on the top right, and you will see the "Invite Friends to Viggle" button. You will earn 5000 points, per friend, who signs up from your invite. Invites can be made through email, text, Facebook, or Twitter.

And here is the last tip to earning Viggle points. This is an easy 500 points to earn everyday just by listening to music. It's 25 points, per song, up to 20 songs. I either use the radio in the car, CDs, my playlist in iTunes, or turn on iTunes Radio.

This may take some time and patience. The amount of points is on the high side in order to redeem gift cards and that's because the gift cards are the bigger rewards many Vigglers will go after. The gift cards are normally between $5 and $25 gift cards. The catch, literally, is to catch the gift cards when they go up. There is no specific time of when they do and we normally don't know which gift cards will be available. The gift cards are also limited each time. There will be times you may feel disappointed because you missed the opportunity to snag one but there will be plenty of other times to try and get one. You will find the gift cards listed in the "Gift Card" bar by clicking on the "Rewards" button at the bottom of your App.

Helpful Hint: If you are a Facebook user or Twitter user, you can follow Viggle for some tips and tricks, bonus point opportunities and even a sneak peak for tomorrows Spotlight. The Spotlight will be a featured gift card, just like the Lowes gift card in the image to the left.

This is where you will also be able to find daily rewards to the other categories; Deals, Entertainment,  Products, Gift Cards, Viggle Merch, and Sweepstakes. Everything available in all categories, except "Gift Cards," are the same each day. They do chance out occationally. So check back. You may find something in there you want.

Just as I was typing out this entry, I just happened to run into some of the gift cards that went up. I snagged 2 gift cards. A $10 Lowe's gift card, and a $5 Best Buy Gift card. We are only allowed to redeem one gift card from each brand, each day.

Another Helpful Hint: The $25 Amazon gift cards will be the tough ones to snag, because they go quick with the blink of an eye! So go for the smaller $5 Best Buy gift cards, and redeem them at your local Best Buy for Amazon or Kindle gift cards. Both Amazon and Kindle gift cards can sit in your Amazon account until you are ready to make your purchase. ;o) That is the only time Best Buy will let you buy a gift card with a gift card.

Here were some of the other gift cards that was featured today.

So if you want to get started with Viggle, let me know and I will send you an invite. The invite will help you get started with 1200 points when you sign up!
